Marketing and Public Relations Manager
Class: E Paraprofessional
Reports to: Director
Status: Salaried Non-exempt
Essential Functions
- Help to ensure our customers, staff and community receive the best experience possible at the library
- Manage and oversee the creation of and production of promotional and informative materials, signage, and annual reports, ensuring consistent quality, brand integrity, and graphic presentation
- Create brochures, pamphlets, flyers, posters and other publications for the library
- Use data to create visually impactful reports and presentations, such as charts, graphs, videos, slideshows, and other presentation formats
- Manage, oversee and direct the content for the library’s website, intranet and other publicity and distribution channels
- Ensure communication and marketing campaigns are integrated across media, social media and web properties
- Oversee production of internal marketing signage needs, ensuring quality and brand integrity throughout the library
- Leverage data to measure, analyze and optimize content performance, processing, purchasing, budgeting and other areas
- Conduct surveys, focus group sessions and market research among the library’s various user populations to assess the quality and use of collections and services
- Possess effective public speaking and interpersonal communication skills
- Assist customers with using library resources
- Maintain a cooperative and communicative relationship with other branches, staff and department heads
- Encourage and provide opportunities for staff development
- Be an active member of the Administrative Team
- Participate in conferences, webinars and other learning opportunities in order to stay abreast of library trends
- Promote good communication and positive thoughts and actions for patrons, staff and the community

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s in a marketing or public relations field is preferred but any combination of education and experience in library operations which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Library experience preferred
- Must obtain the appropriate level of state certification within the Indiana State Library Guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Attending events and programs outside the library
- Valid driver’s license
