Moon, Mars, and Beyond Opening Event

Explore the Moon, Mars, and Beyond Exhibit at the Bell Road Library

The Newburgh Chandler Public Library (NCPL) has the honor of being selected as one of only eight libraries in the country to host From Our Town to the Moon, Mars, and Beyond, a traveling exhibition that will educate and entertain the community with information about all aspect of human spaceflight. The hands-on exhibits, displays, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities will explore the differences and similarities between Earth, the Moon, and Mars, how we’re getting to the Moon and Mars, how we’ll live there, what we’ll learn, and more.

The exhibition will run from mid-May through early July at the Bell Road Library and offers something for patrons of all ages. The public is invited to our kick-off event on Sunday, May 15 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Interact with the exhibits, tour our new makerspace, view NASA mission patches, and other space memorabilia. We’ll have snacks and giveaways. In addition to the May 15 event we will have other space themed programs throughout the summer.

From Our Town to the Moon, Mars, and Beyond is offered by the National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) at the Space Science Institute (SSI) in partnership with Education Development Center (EDC) and is supported by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration under grant No. 80NSSC21M0081.
